About Sandra
I've always loved reading and writing and I wrote my first full length book when I was nine years old.
In university I earned my degree in English and Drama, while also becoming certified as an aerobic instructor and personal trainer. After university I went to live in Whistler, BC and spent much of my time working in a gym, working out and snowboarding. I then went backpacking overseas to New Zealand and Australia, and while in Brisbane Australia I entered my first fitness competition. When I returned to Canada, I wanted to continue competing so entered a local show and won. I earned my IFBB Pro Card in 2004 and competed internationally in the professional ranks for four years.
While the training and competitions took up a great deal of time I always wanted to get back to my writing. I began writing seriously in 2008, sold my first short story at the end of 2008.
I believe if I can stand up infront of judges and audiences in a teeny tiny bikini and jump around doing fitness routines, I can handle the ups and downs of the publishing world! Or at least I hope my years competing have prepared me. I am used to discipline, I am used to deadlines, I am used to being judged by official judges as well as fans. I plan to pursue my writing career with the same indomitable spirit that carried me through eleven years of competing.
Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart. ~William Wordsworth
